IND vs AFG 3rd T20I: Afghanistan win toss, opt to bowl, no Sooryavanshi for India

India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead and are looking to complete a second consecutive T20I series sweep.

New Delhi: Afghanistan have won the toss and elected to bowl first in the third T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. India have made one change to their playing XI, with Yash Thakur coming in for Arshdeep Singh. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s home debut will have to wait a little longer, with the 15-year-old left out of India’s XI for the third T20I. Afghanistan have also made two changes. Gulbadin Naib and Noor Ahmad have been replaced by Abdullah Ahmadzai and Noor ul Rahman.

India will be looking to complete a second consecutive T20I series sweep. The Men in Blue endured a difficult period after the World Cup. Since Shreyas Iyer took over as captain, the team suffered consecutive series defeats against Ireland and England before bouncing back with a 3-0 series sweep against Zimbabwe.

India won each of the first two matches by seven wickets. Afghanistan, meanwhile, will be looking to end the series on a positive note with a win in the third and final T20I.

Following the series, both teams will travel to Japan for the 2026 Asian Games.
